After several years of looking for the right house in Mazatlan, in 2010 we purchased a home in Centro, just 2 ½ blocks from the Plaza Machado. And the process, from viewing available properties, to making the final payments, was made almost entirely painless by the staff at Mazatlan Property Group. Owner Marvin Parr, and bilingual agent Anita Gomez, a Mazatlan native, literally walked us through every step along the way. They tirelessly showed us every available property that we wished to see, arranging the viewings to fit our schedule. At no time did we feel that they were putting any pressure on us, or creating artificial deadlines in order close a deal. At each step they patiently explained the intricacies of Mexican Law, so that we could feel entirely comfortable with our purchase. In addition, Marvin and his crew inspected the house so that there would be no great surprises after we moved in.
We should also point out, that, in addition to their excellent services during the purchase of our home, the property management arm of Mazatlan Property Group has watched out for our home during the time that we reside in Oregon. On a recent trip we found our home clean and secure, and ready for immediate occupancy, after our long day’s travel. This service is not only quite reasonable, but also relieves us of the burden of constantly worrying about our home while we’re away.

Piet and I were looking to buy a house in Mazatlan for a couple of years.Thrue recommemdation of my sister and brother in law whom also bought from the Mazatlan Property Group we were very pleased to meet Marvin and Anita.
We found a home in Playa Sur. Marvin and Anita took care of the closing and all the paper work that comes with it here in Mexico.
When we moved into our house Anita went with us to transfer the water , hydro, into our name and also get the telephone changed over.

Marvin and Anita, Mazatlan Property Group, were recommended to me while I still lived in Canada. I found a beautiful house on their Web site and flew to Mazatlan for a week to view the property. I loved it. Still, Anita and Marvin insisted I look at other properties before making a decision. They spent days driving me from one house viewing to another. My first love prevailed; I bought the house and was guided by Anita through the whole process. It was smooth, painless and very exciting.
Anita also introduced me to custom furniture manufacturers who furnished all of my house at a great price and exactly as I had imagined it.
Marvin and his crew came in while I finished up in Canada and installed appliances, made requested renovations and, after I moved into my delightful house, made many additional changes in good time, professionally and precisely as I had requested. My house is a work in progress and I still count on both Anita and Marvin for their knowledge, expertise and very personal involvement.
Making a decision to retire in Mazatlan, Mexico was probably one of the scariest decisions one could make. Moving from the familiarity of Oregon to the complete unfamiliarity of a foreign Country is quite a step...for anyone. Marvin and Anita not only eased my concerns, but became friends and guided me, step by step through this transformation. They didn't just stop at the sale of the house, but helped with the legalities involved with Immigration, FM3 Visa, Utility connections...even some construction changes. I purchased my home here in Mazatlan in 2005, and I can still count on Marvin and his team to 'Be there for me' when I need help. I cannot say enough about Marvin, Anita and even the gal who answers the phone at Mazatlan Property Group. I do not hesitate to recommend them when friends ask about a ‘good real estate company’. I feel they are my 'family' here in Mazatlan.
We bought our house through Mazatlan Property Group. The house needed quite a bit of work, which was done by Marvin and his staff. We were very satisfied with the remodeling. We were very happy with Mazatlan Property Group. For two years when we were here in the winter Marvin or Anita took us around showing us houses, even though we didn't know for sure whether we wanted to buy. When we were ready to make a purchase they helped with everything we needed. Once the purchase closed they still helped, taking us to get things like gas and water put into our name. If we were to buy again we would use them.
Marvin and Anita keep a low profile on the Internet, but we had read letters from several people who had specific comments about how well they treated their customers and the extra services they provided. In the first hour we learned a ton of good information about the neighborhoods and the specific properties we were interested in. They promptly set up appointments to view the properties for the next morning.
There were houses we could plunk our money down and move into the next day but either the price wasn't right or it was too far from the beach. After much back and forth between Nancy and I we decided on one house that would need some fixing up and some other matters dealt with. One of these matters was serious and it is only because Marvin and his architect took time on short notice to go research the matter and come up with a solution we could live with could we pull together the deal. Anita ram-rodded the paperwork through the system and we completed the transaction in the tight timetable we had due to work and family matters.
No real estate agent I have ever met in the US or Mexico has come even close to the providing the technical, legal and even moral support to work through a difficult transaction. Both Marvin and Anita were patient and understanding and let us work our way through our important decision. They answered a ton of questions, some pretty silly now that I look back on it, but never were they not there with their support and Marvin laughed with us, not at us. They never imposed their opinion on us but just fed us the facts and explained the trade-offs we were facing. And we came out the other end feeling like we had done the right thing and are very excited about moving forward with remodeling and moving into our new Mazatlán home.

We wanted to eventually retire full-time in Mazatlan but we didn't want to rent a house. Buying a house in Mexico seemed so complicated and perhaps risky but it wouldn't have been the first time we did something risky. We are so thankful we picked the best realtors in Mazatlan, Mazatlan Property Group! They are honest, follow thru on their promises, are thorough when answering questions, and also really important is the their service after the sale by setting up the water and electric bills in our name. A year after the sale we had an issue with the legal description on our property taxes which they took care of. So many things you normally do for yourself in the USA is a daunting task in Mexico if not familiar with the procedures. They never made us feel like we were bothering them with the multitude of questions that arose during and after the sale. There isn't anything they could have done to make this a better experience. This was in 2006 and we are now living here full-time. They've seemed like our good friends from the start. Whenever we walk by their office we have to stop in, chat for a bit and sometimes still have some goofy questions, but as always get good answers.
